The 1950s were a boom decade for Rock’n’Roll movies, most of which were built
around tales of teenagers – now and then the prime target audience for box office
and record sales – growing up, breaking through and doing their own rockingly
rebellious thing. The films were packed with the rising stars of the day and
spawned a series of Rock’n’Roll soundtracks, whose musical content most often
widely surpassed that of the films they scored. Rock-legends like Elvis Presley,
Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Little Richard, Cliff Richard and many more all
appeared on the big screen and more importantly on the accompanying
soundtracks, 25 of which are presented here as original albums in exclusively
remastered quality.
