BACH: GOLDBERG VARIATIONS, CANONIC VARIATIONS - Pieter Dirksen, harpsichord and organ

Bach composed it for organ with both manuals and pedal being used throughout because of the work's chorale basis and its heightened contrapuntal complexity. All of the variations are canonic, bringing new life to a speciality of the North German School of which Matthias Weckman had been the leading exponent.
